Who can benefit from the Davis Dyslexia Correction Program?

Mastering Dyslexia offers two programs which get to the root cause of dyslexic symptoms:

1.    The basic five-day Davis Dyslexia Correction® Program, recommended for clients experiencing difficulties with reading, comprehension, writing and spelling.

2.    The Davis Math Mastery Program®,  may be recommended after first completing the basic five-day Davis Dyslexia Correction Program®. An initial consultation and interview would determine the ideal strategy.

Clients from 7 to 107 who are gifted with dyslexia can benefit greatly from these programs. Clients must come to the program well rested and with a positive attitude.

Prior to the program, clients will participate in an assessment to determine their suitability for the program. This complimentary assessment takes about one hour.

What does the program include?

The program includes:

- A complimentary initial assessment.

- The five-day, one-on-one Davis Dyslexia Correction® Program  individually tailored for each client.

- Support training, for the essential follow-up work, for teachers and tutors, family and friends.

- All  the materials necessary for the program and the post-program support work.

- Unlimited telephone/email consultations following the program.

- Three, 1-2 hour follow-up sessions to review the basic Davis tools or for any questions not easily addressed by phone or email.

What exactly happens during the one-week program?

First, I provide a complimentary assessment for the potential client, which determines the ability to perceive multi-dimensionally and to discuss individual goals and needs.

These are the basic procedures covered in the five-day (30 hours), one-on-one program:

- The client learns to perceive accurately and correct perceptions at will. In order to do this, simple mental techniques, activities involving clay sculpture and physical balance exercises are employed.  The client learns to control previous feelings of disorientation. - The client learns the basic symbols of reading and writing by creating the alphabet and other symbols as clay models. Abstract words are mastered by creating the concept of each meaning in clay, along with the word. See examples by clicking here

The program is typically conducted from Monday to Friday, from 9:00am to 4:00pm. The client and the facilitator take breaks as needed throughout the day, including a lunch break from noon to 1:00pm every day.

The program is paced according to the individual client's needs, and most of all, it is fun!

What results can clients expect from the program?

An increased awareness of what causes their confusions

To discover new ways of learning how to deal with their unique perceptions, that can be used throughout life.

To correct their dyslexia using their natural strengths and talents and follow a different approach to learning.

Significant improvement and increased self confidence in one or more basic  academic skill.
